このイベントには英語話さなくていいよ。何人か全く英語話せないよ!!:)

半分外国人と半分日本人参加するので、メッチャいい雰囲気あります。ハイキングに興味があれば、是非来てください:)よろしくお願い致します。

NOTE: Perfect in the summer as this place is very cool....it will not be hot

We will NOT visit a touristic, famous area. Somewhere off the beaten path. Somewhere where Japanese nor tourists have been!!

The cemetery of Koya san. Not only the largest but one of the oldest, most beautiful and one with the most history of past famous military commanders and important figure in Japan`s past.

This is NOT like a normal cemetery where all the headstones look the same and dont have much design...Here you will see a LARGE VARIETY of gorgeous headstones here.....many very detailed and amazingly designed!!!!! Additionally many show information about the life and importance of that person to the Japanese culture.

PLEASE VIEW THIS ASTONISHING VIDEO...YOU WONT BELIEVE YOUR EYES.

JUST LOOK AT SOME OF THESE PHOTOS FROM OUR PREVIOUS VISIT: https://www.facebook.com/pg/oppleosaka/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1954917921427138

Located on Mount Koya (高野山 Koya-san) in Wakayama Prefecture (和歌山県), that cemetery does not just contain an estimated 200,000 graves, but a site which is sacred to the Shingon School of Buddhism, being where the mausoleum of the sect’s founder is located and where he is said to lie in eternal meditation.

Unfortunately you cant take a photo of this Mausoleum and so i cant show its incredible beauty and aura!!

The cemetery, together with the mausoleum at the end of a 2 kilometre walk through the cemetery is in fact a pilgrimage site for Shingon Buddhism, one of the mainstream schools of Buddhism in Japan.

It part of the larger Koyasan area which again makes up part of the “Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range” which is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site!!!
